    I
    My name it is Bob Nixon,
    I'm a carpenter by trade,
    And in the town of Newry,
    In was bred, born and reared.

    From Newry to Belfast.
    A working I did go,
    It was there I fell a courting
    Young Sally Munroe.
    III
    I wrote my love a letter,
    I sealed it with a ring,
    I gave it to a young man,
    I thought he was a friend.
    IV
    But instead of being a friend
    'Twas to me he proved a foe,
    For he never gave the letter
    To young Sally Munroe.
    V
    It was early the next morning,
    At the hour of six o'clock,
    When the busy ship was sailing
    She struck against a rock.
