  1. (continued from previous page)
The giants' home contained many rooms, and these the boy explored, and found an enormous quantity of gold in each of them.
He left the place highly pleased, but returned the next day with a horse and two big sacks. The sacks he filled with gold and placed on the horse's back, and he made his way home to his mother. On arrival at the house he put one bag at the front door, and another at the back.
His mother was over-joyed to see him, and gave him a very hearty welcome, and prepared a appetizing meal for him. When this was finished he led her out to see the gold, and what she felt can be better imagined than explained. Needless to say the two of them lived very happily together ever after.
