    I was bent one time to travel, Some beauty spots to see

    Than that for formed individual.
    The jovial John Mc Cann.
    Yes, John for brilliant humorous wit.
    Is famed the country over.
    Although by cruel tyranny.
    He oft has suffered sore.
    But tyranny however harsh,
    Ne'er could nor never can,
    Break down the cheering spirit
    Of the jovial John Mc Cann.
    In the field, the forge, the factory,
    Or on the great variety hall.
    John's lively jokes and actions
    Never fail to please us all,
    By driving our dull cares away.
    He lengthens our life's span.
    So we're all much indebted, to
    The jovial John Mc Cann.
    And when night comes and as he sits,
    By his own cheerful fire,
    The hard days toil has not changed
