  1. Benny Clarke's forge:
    Benny Clarke of Tullawalter has a forge. He makes tongs or if the paws of the tongs were worn, he would fix them. He points harrow pins. He could make nails but he does not. He makes tips for his own boots. He would shoe a horse in two hours. The anvil is beside the fire. He has a wee trough of water, beside him too. When the shoe is made he throws it in that trough of water to cool it.
