The straw boys were dressed in all straw. They had music with them and they danced the bride all night. They did not like the groom and when they were going home they stuffed the chimney. - The time that most marriage's take place in this district is the week before Shrove Tuesday or before Advent. Not many take place at other times, everyone seems to wait until the last minute.
