  1. It is said that there is a pot of gold in Althore lake. It is under a criogán which is at the end of the lake. It is said that there is a hen minding it and that she will not alow allow anyone to go near it. Some one tried to get it but they were not able. They say that if that person had a hoarse nail and to drop it into the pot that they would be able to get it. Some say that it is a snake that is curled around it but there is no sureity about it.
