Scenes of my childhood no more may I see

    I
Scenes of my childhood no more may I see
To revisit again the loved Vale of Tralee
Where in youth oft I strayed with those friends who were true
In my own native island Green Erin adieu!
    II
Far Far away in a far distant land
Far away from those fair scenes and mountains so grand
How oft doth my heart in its loneliness stray
To those fond friends and fair scenes away far away
    III
Sound the loud horn at the Gap of Dunloe
To chase thro' the wild wood the wild stag and roe
To list to the thrushes' and linnets bright lay
And to sweet Innisfallen now far far away.
    IV
How oft in my dreams to Killarney I go
To revisit sweet Mucross and famed Aghadoe
To glide oer the waters of Kenmare's lonely (lovely?) bay
And to sweet Lisareena [?] (?) now far far away.
    V
Fond memory brings back those fond scenes to my view
Those mountains so grand and those friends who were true
To the green hills of Kerry my thoughts fondly stray
To the home of my childhood tis now far away.
