  1. There was an old school one time in a place which we now call the Burrow in the middle of fourteen acres of bushes near Caltrduff in the County Galway. It was a small plain thatched house and the ruins are to be seen yet,
    There were no seats in it, only small low stools. They had no blackboards but slates and they used to write on them with slate pencil. They had a writing pen made out of a quill. I have a grand Uncle that went to that school and he said they
