    Shops were not as common in olden times as they are nowadays. Tea and sugar and flour were not to be got plentifully in olden times, The people used to exchange one animal for another such as, a horse for a cow, sheep for a calf, and if a man had to give money to another man he would have to give him a few days working because money was not plentiful long ago.
