    I heard my grandfather and others talk about Lough Graney and its beginning.
    "The traditions of the place", he says, still preserve the memory of Lady Grain. They say that she was drowned in Lough Graney and her body was found in River Graney at a place called Derry Graney and she buried at Tuaim Graney. Grain was formely very usual in Ireland as a womans name. The lake burst forth in B.C. 100.
