- Long ago there was a great King living near this locality named King Callan. One day one of his soldiers was drowning and the King jumped in to save him, but he was drowned.
There was a man named Carthy whose address was unknown walking along the bank of the King's river in Mr Long's field.
He was coming home from a funeral and did not know that the river was so near. He walked into it and was drowned.
