The ancestors of this man were smiths for over one hundred and forty years back The forge is situated on the side of the road from Kells to Kilkenny. It is about five hundred yards from Garnaman cross. It is small in size and the walls are made of concrete. The roof is of thatch, with a small round pipe projecting from it, for the exit of the smoke.
