  1. In olden times boots or shoes were seldom worn.
    Our forefathers were well able to bear the hardship, of cold, and the rough roads, whereas nowadays we people must have good firm boots. These boots are made by our local shoe-makers, namely Thomas Barry, Kells and Michael Malloy.
    People often complain of having sore and tired feet.
