    so called because ther are crabs growing in the ditches.
    Dances were held at a place in Kells known as the "Church steps". It is a cross-road, and all the young boys and girls used to dance there long ago.
    There is a new road near a house called Treasy's which was made during the famine times for relief work. It is called the new-road.
