   writer's mind, is a clear indication of the existence of a milling industry in the immediate locality.
   Mitchelstown has been a leading light in the industrial world of bygone days. Within the precincts of the town, and on the road to Clonmel there existed a tanyard which employed a considerable number of men. Also at Ballyhederig Bridge within two miles of the town where a woollen and flour milling industry existed. Mitchelstown was then a town of small and large industries where the small existed supplying in a small way the necessary requirements of the large industries such as nail-makers, coopers, carpenters and blacksmiths. This was indeed a beehive of industry, but nothing remains of some of those but their ruins. It's a pity that an energetic body, inspired by traditions of their local past and possibly supported by the present Government could see their way in this rather populous district to start an industry of some kind that would absorb the unemployment that exists
