- Long ago the dead used to be laid out on a table, and the people left four candles lighting at the right side of the corpse.
The night after the person dying there used to be a wake in the house. All the (le) relatives and neighbours would be present, and each man would be given a clay pipe and tobacco, and there used to be many games played at the wake such as, Slapping, Spoil the Market, The Seven Trades Men, Fox Harrow, and Horth.
The funeral would be held on the next day and the coffin used to be brought to the grave-yard in a cart and three women used to sit on the coffin as far as the grave-yard.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
