Another old custom was the giving of one extra when a dozen of eggs was ordered. This was known as the "bakers dozen".
Tick was the term used when goods were given on credit.
"Booth" is a similar expression but which is superceded by the word "tick".
A shilling is still referred to as a "bob", a sixpence as a "tanner".
