    Two Gilbane brothers natives of the Drumona district returning from Mass one very warm Sunday, went out bathing in the Shannon near Jamestown village. One fo them got into a whirlpool and his brother perceiving him in difficulties went to rescue him. Both were lost before anyone could come to the rescue. Their bodies were found immediately.
