“Dear George, My old insuring friend, A cheque to this I now apprend...”
(ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)Dear George,
My old insuring friend,
A cheque to this I now append,
To cover loss by beastly fire,
To house or shop or barn or byre,
Hayshed, furniture and leather,
In fact the outfit altogether,
It also pays the policy,
For servants working here with me,
In case they meet with grave mispa- mishap,
While scrubbing floors or fencing gaps,
I think this money is well spent,
One never knows when accident,
A man may permanently maim,
And then he'd make an awful claim,
And damages I'd have to pay,
And lose much money anyway.
So now for accidents and fire,
I'm well insured and will retire,
-Wishing you many a happy-- Bailitheoir
