- Three men by the names of Connaughton, Conolly and Sharkey were on the island one night fowling, or as some say making 'poteen'. When they were coming off the island a wave must have upset the boat.
Next morning the boat was washed up on the shore and there was not anybody in it. After nine days the bodies of the three men were found.- Informant
