  1. There is a well situated in the north of Ballyheigue. The name of this well is Tobar na Súl. The reason why it is called this name is because it is the well of the eyes. At one time long ago there was a protestant family living in Ballyheigue. Their names were Crosbies. One day a girl and a boy put a setter dog into the well to catch the trout, that is said to be seen in the well, the dog, was drowned and the man got insane, and he had to be strapped to his bed before he died. The girl also got insane, and she also died.
