- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)like them. They trew all potatoes at the woman and they nearly killed her with them. This story was related to me by my father.
- About seventy years ago a ship laden with timber was wrecked at Ballyheigue bay the name of the ship was the Mag Nolia. They were in danger of being drowned, and the captain had no way of sending word inland. The only way he had was to get one of the sailors to go in a small boat to the shore with a letter to the Coast guards in Ballyheigue. No one of the sailors was willing to go. The captain then had to cast lots and an Irish man was picked to go. He asked the captain to give him a glass of rum to give him courage(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
