- In this district people used eat three times a day. They grew corn and potatoes and from these crops they got their food; oatmeal from the corn. They drank a great quantity of milk, both butter milk and sweet milk.
Oat meal bread was made on an iron gridle on the open fire. Oat meal porridgde made with water and salt was and is still used night and morning.
Vessels made of wood; noggin were used for porridge and dor drinking out of. They were shaped like this {picture}
