- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)gabhlóg was used to hold it up, with a light rod about six inches long. This rod was used as a tricker and fastened to the bow underneath about two inches from the ground, and when the bird leaped on the bow the tricker fell out, the crib fell down and the bird was caught.
Snares for catching hares and rabbits were made of long thin yellow wire. These snares were made in different sizes. The rabbit snare was made by twisting four wires together about a foot long. It was then made in a loop-shape with a cord at one end in which a stake was fastened. Then it was ready for setting on the rabbit-run in the field. The stake was driven down in the ground in which a small peg was used to hold up the snare about four inches from the ground.
