- There are two forges in our parish. One of the smiths is Tom Connolly and the other is Frank Rourke.
Tom Connolly lives in Tibarney. His ancesters were not smiths.
The forge is not very old. It has a wooden roof and a pain door. The horses are shod outside the forge in warm weather. there is only one fire in the forge. The bellows is shaped round. It was not made locally.
It is said that water used in the forges can cure a toothache.
