- There is one forge in my district. It is the property of Thomas Connolly. He shoes horses and donkeys. he also fixes ploughs spades and harrows. He puts iron bands called tyres around cart and trap wheels and that is called"shoeing wheels". This latter work is done outside. There is a wooden roof on the forge covered with felt. Inside there is a fireplace and a bellows for blowing the fire and an anvil for shaping the iron. there is also a vice for holding the iron.
