    finch and linnet usually build in mossy banks and soft fences, while larger birds, such as pigeons, rooks and magpies build on trees.
    Hawks build at the edge of high cliffs. The cuckoo makes no nest, but strays through places, until she finds a nest belonging to some other bird; very often the hedge-sparrow, and there she lays her egg. Hawks very often devour young birds from small bird's nests, even before they are fledged, while the poor mother birds can be seen flying in frantic manner from bush to bush, screaming
