  1. There were many things used as cures in days gone by. These are some of the old cures which follow. If a person suffered from ring-worm; the cure is by writing the person's name round the sore patch in ink.
    Two tea spoons full of soot in a cup of water was supposed to cure a stomach ache.
    If used engine oil was put on a burn it was supposed to cure it.
    If a person had a poor appetite and if he took dandelion tea it was supposed to cure it.
    If a child had a sore mouth and if his father blew his breath into it three times and say "the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost" it is supposed to cure it.
    If the first egg of a pullet was taken it is a cure for a sore throat.
    If a dog bit a person and if the dog was killed and if the person that was bit ate the dog's liver it was supposed to heal the wound.
