One evening when a small boy came in to eat some porridge, and when he was eating it it over came him, and he died.
The next year the government gave some potatoes to every house, in order to keep the people alive. They plucked out the eyes of the potatoes, and sowed them, and they ate the rest of the potatoes.
Great numbers of people died, and hardly any of them were buried in graveyards, but were buried in holes, and valleys.
