    Old Proverbs
Bad workmen grumble at their tools. After a storm comes a calm, or After the rain the sunshine. Better late than never. More hase, less speed. Seeing is believing. Look before you leap. Never say die A stitch in time saves nine. Rob Peter to Pay Paul. You should never despair while there’s meat on the shin of a wren. What is bred in the marrow can’t be got out of the bone. Put a beggar on horseback and it is’nt his feet that will be sore. Slow and sure wins the race. The proof of the pudding is in the eating. Sense bought is better than sense taught. Small leaks sink great ships. Prevention is better than cure. It is late to repent when all is spent. Those that hide find. The world would’nt make a race horse out of an ass. The early bird catches the worm. Tell a lie if the truth will not match. The burnt child dreads the fire. Union is strength. Learning is better than silver or gold. You cannot put an old head on young shoulders. The sooner the better. The more the merrier. The younger the chicken the sweeter the picking. It is not the day of the hunt I am learning to ride. Let every man praise the bridge he crosses.
