He was like a dog that would be chained. A priest from Clondrohid went there on a sick call. The ghost jumped up behind him on the saddle, and the priest banished him. It was into the sea he put him, and he asked the priest to let him have one hand up so that he could drown the ships on the ocean. The priest put him into the sea with his two hands down.
- In the townland of Gortnalicka in this parish there lived a man during the Penal Days who was afraid to go to Mass because the soldiers threatened him if he went. The priest heard about him, so he went and told him to come to Mass the next Sunday, and that there would be no fear of him. The man went to Mass the next Sunday. The priest had a man on top of Carrigafooka rock with a flag to watch the enemy coming. Near the end of Mass the man on the rock waved the flag to(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
