    In the village and close by are (or were) the following houses which deserve mention.
    (1) David Murphy's - a thatched house close to the school where the members of the Land League held their Sunday meetings in 1884 and 1885. Davy himself was sentenced to a month's imprisonment in circumstances which will be explained later.
    (2) Eugene Cronin's at the junction of Knocknagree - Ballydesmond and the Knocknagree-Greeveguilla Roads. In the famine period food principally soup was distributed to the starving people. Here also Land Leaguers met.
    (3) William Breen's (Public House) was once occupied by Military when the Mac Carthy family lived at Knocknagree House and the Duggans at Knocknagree House.
    (4) Michael Walsh's (once owned by Nolan) a meeting house for the members of the Ladie's Branch of the Land League. Nolan's brother Timothy of Farrankeal was Hom. Sec. to the Men's Branch of the Land League.
    (5) John C. O'Herlihy's was the R.I.C. Barracks between the years 1890 and 1920 when it was evacuated.
