The house was well surrounded by English tyrants bold,
Who were no match for rebel boys who loved the green and gold
You may think it was a victory for English men to boast,
Where there were but five unarmed men against the English host!
They made a dash for liberty
'Neath rifle fire and all, and three of them got clear away
While three of them did fall
Those two brave survivors to the hillside they withdrew
Their hearts being stout and fearless
Their aim being quick and true.

They will assemble in their strength upon some future day,
And will avenge their comrades who died at Inchemay
For such a cruel traitor is very seldom seen
As he who sold the lives of those who loved their native green.

N.B. Shiels the informer brought the English soldiers to David Herlihy's house in Inchemay. David Herlihy & two other Republicans were shot dead, when trying to escape - the soldiers told them to run.
