- There are three graveyards in this parish and there are many graveyards within three miles radius of us. The graveyard in Liscarroll is not level but sloping. There are only a few trees growing in the graveyard. There is a tomb in Churchtown. A tomb is a stone house where bodies are put on shelves There is one very old headstone in Liscarroll graveyard and it is erected to Mr. John ODwyer and the date of it is 1790. There are no wooden crosses in Liscarroll but there are a few iron crosses. Long ago the babies who died before they were baptised were buried in Killinane. That is how Killinane got its name the church of the Infants. There are the remains of an old monastery in the graveyard. Some of the graves are cemented, with chains all round them. The graveyards that are near us are Granard, Knahill, Killabraher, Kilbrin, Kilgroggin and Templemary. Some graveyards are very flat. The following is a story told about Kilbrin graveyard. Long ago before the Protestant church was built at Ballygraddy the Protestants about the place attempted to build the church in the middle of Kilbrin(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
