- In February 1933 a heavy snowfall accompanied by a severe storm occurred. The storm blew the snow into big heaps especially by the roadsides with the result that all kinds of motor and horse traffic were at a standstill and remained so for two days, while in some districts the roads were impassable for nearly a week. That snowstorm came very unexpectedly. Many sheep were lost along the slopes of the Galtees.
Very heavy rain fell in Nov. 1925 which caused the rivers Funcheon and Abha na gCaroa to overflow their banks more that usual. Many fences were swept away by the water. The flood was so big that it came out on the road near the bridge with such force that a local man and his wife had a narrow escape from drowning having been swept off(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
