The floors were made of yellow mud. Half doors were very common in this district long ago; a good number of them still exist.
Turf was mostly used for firing with a little coal. Light was got from dip candles. These were made from the melted fat of animals such as the pig, cow and sheep. Cotton thread was used as wick.Written by
