- 'Twas on the 5th and 6th of May in the year of '81.
I left my mother's dwelling for to join a glorious throng
I came to famed Kilmanagh that place of high renown
'Twas our intent we were all bent to keep bad landlords down.
II
When I came to Kilmanagh town I solemnly declare
I know there were no market no races or a fair
Such a sight of heroes never yet was seen
The Kilmanagh boys they took the sway
They were all dressed in green.
III
Long life unto our blessed clergy that lived in Tulloroan
Six hundred men they marched with them as fine
as e'er was known
This glorious throng they marched along and never
seemed to frown
They all did swear I do declare w'ell keep bad
landlords down
IV
Sammy Lane of Shipton plain on him dont depend
He sent for his tenants all and said he'd be their friend
He'd give them 5 1/2 d to the pound but no poor
law tax would pay(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Faisnéiseoir
