And he paid unto his comrades all we'll keep bad landlords down*Captain Hayden was a native of Kilbrahan, Kilmanagh. He organized a band of flutes and drums. He was the leader and used dress in quaint clothes something like a captain - an army captain. That is how he got the title "Captain". This band attended all the evictions in the neighbourhood.
The ballad is taken down exactly as I heard it from my father, John Luttrell.
