These tyings are made out of iron or rope and run up and down on a traveller.
When cows break out they are swiveled by a rope from a horn to a front leg.
Goats and sheep are tangled with a rope from a front leg to a hind one.
Donkeys are spanchled with a rope or a piece of bag to keep them from breaking out.
It is said that a horse can fight a ghost as long as the rider stays on his back.
One dark night a man was going home from town, when he was going past Philipstown graveyard his horse started to frighten and then started to kick.
