Basket Making: There was a man by the name of James Cravon from Lower Reaghstown; he was a noted basket maker; he would cut the sallies in the bogs and interweave them together, he used to sell them in Dundalk market; everyone used to be looking for his baskets. - Some time ago when there were no wax candles such as there are now the people used to go to the bogs and cut rushes and plait them together and then get the cattle and put it around rushes. Peter McGahan used to do this in the year 1837 at Reaghstown.
