- We have fowl at home. The fowl are kept in the hen house.
There is one door and a thatched roof on the hen house. Inside are roosts and nests. The food given to the hens is meal, potatoes and oats.
The words said when calling the hens are "buck buck" When calling the chickens the words said are "chuck chuck" The ducks are called by the words "Leek, leek, leek"
The nest are made of hay in boxes. When a hen lays an egg she "cackles". A duck "Wacks" after laying an egg.
There are thirteen eggs put down for a hatch. The hen lies three weeks on the eggs.
