The poor people of the district would get as many quarts of thin Indian Meals as there were people people living in the house.
The people would also dig the black potatoes and try to peel the black parts of the potatoes
Shorty after the "Great Famine in 1846 - 47 a fever came to Ireland called the "Cholora Fever". This was a dreadful fever and of which many died.
