Ar an leathanach seo
- The houses were roofed with sally rods and thatched with straw.
They were mud-wall houses.
The thatch was got from the oatcrop.
The bed was in the kitchen in one corner and it was called a fourposter. The chimney was made of wattles and plastered with water and clay.
Most of the houses had no chimney.
Sometimes people had the fire on the middle of the floor.
The old floors were made of clay.
Half-doors were common in the district formerly.
Rush candles were used for giving light formerly.
Candles were made locally formerly.
There were a lot of windows which had no glass.
