   The names of the birds that are commonly seen in my district are:- The Thrush, the blackbird, the robin, the wren, the yellow-hammer, the lark, the crow, the hawk, The sparrow, the stair, The pigeon, the willie-wag-tail, and the gold-flinch.
   The thrush builds his nest in the bushes or hedges. The blackbird builds his nest in a hawthorn bush.
   The robin builds his nest in the backs of ditches or on some mossy spot.
   The stair and the swallow builds their nests in sheds or house-eves.
   The wren builds his nest in the bushes or in hedges.
   The crow, the jackdaw and the magpie builds their nests in the tops of trees.
   The yellow-hammer builds his nest in a sheltry place.
   The birds sit on the eggs for about three weeks.
   Boys are told that if they touch the eggs the bird will forsake the nest.
