For the supper which they would have at nine o clock they would have potatoes boiled and buttermilk. They would drink out of noggons. The noggons were made of wood.
The old people would not sit at the table. They had favourite corners. The would sit in these corners while eating.
There was plenty of buttermilk and new milk drunk. They used to have foreign bacon from Russia and Denmark and other countries. They used to make cheese long tine ago.
They would have a little meat at Christmas. They would eat it fresh. Around the year 1860 tea was introduced into Ireland.
