It is said a man cut down one in Mr. P. Byrdie's field. The fairies came to his door that evening and they were riding his cows. They asked him why he did it and he said what harm was it and he said he would cut the heads off them too. The fairies rode the cows round the field till they killed the cows.
On another field in Mr. Joseph Smyth's farm is a hill that a house once stood upon. All the meadows that lie near the house are called Belair's meadows.
They are so called because the man that owned the house was Belair and he owned the meadows too. The only remains of the house is a couple of stone walls that are built round a field with the stones that one made the house.
A townland that is between Billywood and Shancarnon is called "Farrandooney". There are hills called the "Crockens". In the "Crockens" there is a well called the "Farrandooney" well. A little stream that runs from the well is called "Farrandooney" stream. A bridge is called the "Farrandooney" bridge as it is in the same town-land.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
