The wild Geese come over from the high lands of Scotland. When the snow is on the high lands they go to the Marshy-lands of Connaught.
They are a very hard bird to shoot as they always keep one on sentry. The one that is on sentry keeps on the top of a fence for about two hours at a time.
When he comes to the conclusion he is long enough there he flies down to the rest of them and gives the first one he meets a sharp peck. By that sharp peck he understands he is to keep sentry for the next two hours. Then when they are satisfied with their feed, they fly away about a hundred miles again without resting and finally they reach their journey's end.
