- There are many different kings of animals in this district, such as, cows, calves, horses, sheep and pigs.
There are many different names on the cows, for example the black-kerry, the white faced cow, the polly cow, and the rooney cow. When the people are driving the cows into the field they shout 'how-how-how' and when they are calling they calves they shout 'suck-suck-suck.' The cow house is a long shed with a manger and a chain to tie each cow and it has a cemented floor with a fall to the door.
There are also many different kinds of fowl, namely, Hens, Turkeys, ducks, and chickens. When calling the hens we say 'chuck-chuck-chuck' and when calling Turkeys we say 'be-be-be' and when calling the ducks we say 'weet-weet-weet' and when calling the chickens we say 'chick-chick-chick' and sometimes we say 'birdie-birdie-birdie.'- Bailitheoir
