He taught Micheal Brien of Screboug who was a poor scholar and others who were studying for the priesthood.
On the top of Chapel Hill between the parish of Kilbeg and the parish of Nobber there used to be Mass said before the chapel was built and there was a cross of wood erected in the ditch where the Mass used to be said bu through time it wore away and now it is not to be seen. There was a little chapel built in a field beyond Mr Brophy's house, Ardlonnan, and it was the only place which was called Kilbeg and it was from that place that the present Kilbeg parish got its name.
