23rd Sept, 1938Old graveyards
There are four graveyards in the parish of Kilbeg, namely, Kilbeg, Staholmog, Robertstown and Emlagh. The most ancient of the four is Staholmog. It is round in shape and it is in a big field; it is about two hundred yards from the road and chapel. There are some old monuments in it having these dates on them 1733, 1751, 1763, 1777 and 1846. Those are the oldest on them. Inside in the graveyard there are ruins of an old chapel with two little gates leading into them, one on each side of it. In this ruin there is a family named Drake buried and another family named Balls are buried in it also. There were three priests ordained in this chapel. There is one noted family buried i the graveyard and that is Dyas. They are buried in a little space by themselves(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
